Najla Alshaqha, M.A. Candidate

Pronouns: She, Her, Hers

I'm Najla, currently an intern counselor pursuing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNC. I am originally from the gorgeous Saudi desert. In the desert, everything appears similar from a distance, but you notice the huge differences as you go closer. Just like us!

Everyone holds a distinctive story, one that never aligns with another. Some stories bear challenging moments, leaving enduring wounds in our hearts. As the owner of your narrative, only you can genuinely convey its reality. I am here to lend an empathetic ear to the difficult chapters in your story and assist in the healing process.

My counseling focus is on specialized areas such as trauma, relationship dynamics, anxiety management, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and issues specific to Muslim and first-generation Arab Americans. In addition, I work to improve self-esteem, navigate the obstacles of parenthood, assist refugees & immigrants, and promote peace within dysfunctional family structures.

I'm here and ready to listen and accompany you on the path to a more comfortable and fulfilling life. I believe in the power of collaboration, establishing a secure and warm environment where your unique journey is acknowledged and deeply honored.
