When does therapy end?

Therapy ends when you have accomplished your goals. This will be a conversation between therapist and client, based on treatment plan goals and objectives set at beginning of therapeutic relationship. Reviewing goals regularly will help you decide when you are ready to terminate services.

What can I expect in my first session?

The first session gives you the opportunity to meet the therapist and determine if it is a good fit for you. You can expect your therapist to ask probing questions based on the intake information provided. If you feel it is a good fit, your needs and the frequency of appointments will be discussed at the end of the session.

Will therapy help me?

Yes, some of the benefits of regular therapy may include but are not limited to: improved mood, communication skills, emotional regulation, personal insight, acceptance. A therapist can provide a supportive environment, in which you can explore and process anxiety, depression, grief, unresolved traumas, stress, self-esteem, etc.

Therapist can help you develop coping skills and strategies to manage emotional dysregulation and day to day struggles. Therapist can also provide a new perspective on difficult situations, increase awareness and interpersonal growth. The help you receive from therapy has much to do with the client engaging in the process and putting into practice learned skills.
